Coda Story is looking for a managing editor to oversee the ambitious editorial output of its Disinformation Crisis Edition.
This is an exciting opportunity to join our international team of award-winning reporters, editors, animators, and videographers to support our innovative digital journalism and contribute to a thriving nonprofit newsroom. The position offers an opportunity to oversee coverage, manage freelancers, dig into editing, and attend conferences and agenda-setting events.
Devise and oversee the editorial content of Coda’s award-winning disinformation coverage.
Work closely with a network of freelancers to commission stories in a variety of formats, cultivate new contributors, look for new angles and editorial approaches, coordinate with production staff, promote editorial through social media and professional networks, develop editorial partnerships and work closely with outside editorial partners and across its own platforms.
Represent Coda at conferences and events, contribute to the development of new editorial products, and mentor junior staff.
Take an active role in working with top management on editorial strategy and audience and company growth
5 + years professional journalism experience
Deep familiarity with global affairs and knowledge of Russia and its neighbors
COMPENSATION: Commensurate with experience
